The course
This course is designed to provide doctors, research nurses and other healthcare professionals with an overview of the tools and methods available to clinicians who are interested in research. It assumes a basic understanding of computers and IT. There will be a combination of lectures, small group work and hands-on teaching that will provide the audience with a dynamic and practical learning experience.
Research is a poorly taught subject within healthcare at present and whilst we will not be able to provide a comprehensive in-depth approach to every topic, we hope that each individual will come out with the ability to design research studies, electronic databases and basic competencies in statistical analysis.
The Program
Two day courses on ethics, R&D, literature databases, study design, Excell, Access, SPSS, data collection and analysis, and medical writing.
